Knockout LGBTQ+ Boxing Club Privacy Notice

  1. We are committed to respecting your privacy. This notice is to explain how we may use personal information we collect before, during and after your membership with us. This notice applies to you if you have contacted us to become or are a member and/or registered with our club. This notice explains how we comply with the law on data protection, what your rights are and for the purposes of data protection we will be the controller of any of your personal information.
    References to Knockout, we, our or us in this privacy notice are to the Knockout LGBTQ+ Boxing Club CIC, registered company number 10870651

  2. We are collecting your personal data directly from you in the following ways and for the following purpose(s): you may give us information about you by filling in forms on our site, by email, our online registration process or otherwise providing England Boxing registration forms. The information you give us may include your name, address, email address and phone number, age, gender, boxing record and any other information you choose to give us.

  3. We are collecting personal data indirectly about you in the following ways and for the following purpose(s):

    • If you book tickets to our classes on a third party website we use this information to monitor class attendance

    • If you register as a member directly on the England Boxing portal and affiliate with us, we will have access to your previous membership history including information such as combat experience and/or boxing certification

  4. Medical Information. In addition to the information described at 2. And 3. The club and England Boxing work with approved healthcare professionals to facilitate your medical records relevant for your participation in boxing. The England Boxing registrars,and certain regional officials are able to view basic information relating to your fitness to box (including your medical card and examination dates) in order to assess your capacity to participate in the sport.

  5. The legal basis for processing your personal data: we process your personal data either on the basis of your consent, where this has been given unambiguously, or on the basis that it is necessary for the performance of a contract between you and us.

  6. The recipients or categories of recipients of your personal data are the operating committee of Knockout and we may use the information:

    • to understand, manage and administer boxing participation and membership of Knockout and our affiliation with England Boxing where relevant;

    • to notify you about our events or offers and changes to our services (we will not send any direct marketing by email)

  7. Knockout will retain personal data only for as long as is necessary. Generally, where there is no legal requirement we may retain these records for a period of 6 years after your last contact or registration with us. In practice, we will ask members to re-register with us on a more regular basis than above, to ensure your information and our terms of service are up to date. During this update cycle, previous registration with personal information is destroyed.

  8. If you are registered with England boxing, it will be retained for at least three years after your affiliation with England Boxing ends, in order to provide data to bodies like Sport England, but their policy is to delete it after that period.

  9. You have the right to request from us access to and rectification or erasure of personal data or to restriction of processing concerning you or to object to our processing of the data as well as the right to data portability.

  10. If we are relying on your consent to process data, you may withdraw your consent at any time by notice to us.
